We welcome you to come and enjoy - 'A Nordic Experience.'

Visit Heritage Hall, a place where history comes alive!  You will find an exhibition of the rich history of generations of creative and hard-working Norwegian immigrants who lived in this metropolitan area.  The first NIA exhibit, Norwegians in New York 1825 to 2000: Builders of City Community and Culture, was featured at the Ellis Island Museum for six months during the Millennium Year 2000.

The exhibit took up residence in Heritage Hall in 2001.  Since then there have been five rotating exhibits continuing the story of New York area immigrants.

Currently on display is a maritime exhibit highlighting the careers of Norwegians who helped to make the New York Harbor, one of the greatest harbors in the world.  Meet dock builders, tugboat pilots, barge drivers—men who won the America Cup for decades, etc.
